Permethrin Clothing Insecticide Trigger Spray (8 Oz)

Permethrin is a synthetic insecticide that is a replica of the natural insecticide pyrethrum, which is derived from the flowers of the daisy chrysanthemum. The U.S. military developed and tested Permethrin for use on uniforms, and it utilizes the same active ingredient found in hair shampoos for head lice.

When applied to clothing, bed nets, tents, or gear, the treated fabric repels or kills biting insects, including mosquitoes that may carry West Nile virus, Yellow Fever, or Malaria, as well as ticks that may carry Lyme disease or Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Upon drying, Permethrin bonds to the cloth fiber or mesh netting, rendering it odorless and non-staining.

Permethrin is water-based, biodegradable, and virtually non-toxic to humans, with no reported systemic effects. When used in conjunction with a DEET-based insect repellent on exposed skin, Permethrin-treated clothing can provide nearly 100% protection against disease-causing mosquitoes and ticks.

The product is available in various sizes, including an 8 oz. Trigger Spray that can treat one set of clothing and one additional garment, a 12 oz. Trigger Spray that can treat two sets of clothing, a 16 oz. Trigger Spray that can treat two sets of clothing and one additional garment, a 32 oz. Quart Trigger Sprayer that can treat five sets of clothing, and a 128 oz. Gallon Trigger Sprayer that can treat 20 sets of clothing.

Note: One set of clothing is defined as one long-sleeved shirt, one pair of pants, and one pair of socks. Permethrin-treated clothing can offer up to six weeks of protection or withstand up to six launderings.
